Brinsworth Howarth Cross Country Festival

On Tuesday afternoon (17th October), the whole of KS1 and KS2 put our trainers on and set out on our Cross Country routes around the school grounds. The level of self motivation, perseverance and team spirit demonstrated by our children during this event made all of our staff extremely proud! It was lovely to see the older children supporting and encouraging the younger children, acting as great role models. Our youngest children in KS1 also had a great go at running around their course, they enjoyed having their card hole punched to celebrate every lap and tried really hard to challenge themselves!

After a couple of hours of hole-punch counting, score collecting, average calculating and counting up …the scores are in!

  • In first place with an average lap score of 6.08 was the Red Team.
  • In close second place with an average lap score of 5.93 was the Green Team.
  • In third place with an average lap score of 5.91 was the Blue Team.
  • And last but not least, in fourth place with an average lap score of 5.79 was the Yellow Team.

On behalf of myself and all members of staff, I would like to say a huge well done to the children for their fantastic participation!
